GURELAN maintains the cooperative character with which it started in 1963 and is nowadays a worker cooperative where workers are business partners. Its cooperative pillars, based on people instead of capital, apply both in making strategic decisions (one person one vote) and in business management (participative management). They are also reflected in GURELAN relationship with its customers and other stakeholders.
The engagement with the cooperative model and the commitment of the partners with it encourages the maintenance and development of the business project of GURELAN and is shown in the permanent capitalization of the company.
Its business management model has been used as an example of good practices in the Border Network For Social and Solidarity Economy (TESS) project.
